Abstract

The industrial sector is one of the most important sectors in Indonesia because it has an important role in development. The industrial sector has several advantages compared to other sectors due to the enormous investment value it implements, the ability to absorb large labor force, and the ability to create added value from each raw material processed. One of the industries in Indonesia is the CNG Tofu Factory which is engaged in tofu production. Based on an interview with the owner of the CNG Tofu Factory, the CNG Tofu Factory uses make to stock and make to order production system. The problem faced by CNG Tofu Factory in managing the two production system is the occurrence of overstock and excess production capacity. This is because the CNG Tofu Factory is not very good at managing the make to stock and make to order production systems. The causes of these problems are there is no standard time for each process in tofu production, in determining the amount of production and order lead time only based on estimation, and the company does not have a facilities that can provide accurate information relating to sales and product production. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the production planning and control system at the CNG Tofu Factory. In designing the proposed system, the design process begins by measuring the standard time for each work station. In designing the Make to Stock production system, product demand is forecasted and for the Make to Order production system, order lead time is calculated. In balancing the two production systems, capacity planning is carried out for each production system. Then all these calculations will be implemented into Microsoft Excel based application so that it can be used by the owner of the CNG Tofu Factory.
