Abstract

This study aims to explain that women as heads of households influence poverty rates in West Sumatra and explain factors (gender, education level, health status, employment status, number of family members, location of residence) influencing household poverty rates in West Sumatra. This research is of a quantitative type with the data used is a cross-section in 2019. The object of this research is the head of the household in West Sumatra. The data used in this study is the 2019 Susenas data. The data processing tool is Stata. The analytical method used in this study is the logit regression analysis method. The results of the study show that women as heads of households do not affect poverty in West Sumatra. Partially, only employment status and location of residence affect household poverty in West Sumatra.
