Abstract
This study aims to provide an overview of the current racial discrimination in the United States towards black people that is reflected in a novel titled Dear Justyce by Nic Stone. The focus of this thesis is to analyze the kinds of racial discrimination that occurs in this novel. The study also analyzes the impacts of racial discrimination on black people. The theory used in analyzing the novel is the mimetic theory by M.H Abrams, which sees literary work as a reflection of the actual event in society. The sociological approach is also used to analyze the novel. The study is presented using descriptive methods. After analyzing Dear Justyce, the writer argues that racial discrimination has been happening in the United States until now. The writer found racial discrimination related to criminal justice, such as police brutality and criminal justice inequalities towards Black community. Black people in the novel have to survive and stand for them self in society and face many problems. As a result, many black people should do violence to protect themself because if they did not, they would feel powerless against the majority of race and people in charge.
