Abstract

This study aims to investigate the level of Islamic financial literacy among undergraduate students by using Islamic financial principle of Maqasid Syariah. The population used in this study is undergraduate students of Andalas University. The convenience sampling technique was used to conduct this study. Based on the predetermined data, the sample used in this research is 297 of undergraduate students. This study approach is a quantitative method using primary data as type of data, that are collected from online questionnaire. The data analysis used is multinomial logistic regression. Based on the result findings show that male students, students who come from Economics and Business Faculty and students who attended the courses on Shariah finance/ accounting/ economics tend to have higher level of Islamic financial literacy. This study also shows that 77.8% of undergraduate students among Andalas University have high level of Islamic financial literacy, 17.8% of undergraduate students among Andalas University have moderate level of Islamic financial literacy, and 4.4% of undergraduate students among Andalas University have low level of Islamic financial literacy.
