Abstract

Rubber plant (Hevea brasiliensis Muell. Arg.) is one of the plantation commodities that is widely cultivated by farmers in Indonesia. The use of stimulants is one of the efforts made by farmers to increase the yield of latex rubber plants. This study aims to determine the effect of giving several concentrations of Ambon banana peel stimulant and to get the best Ambon banana peel stimulant concentration to increase latex yield of rubber plants. The making of Ambon banana peel extract stimulant was made with concentrations of 200, 250, and 300 g/L, then cured for 1 x 24 hours of fermentation in a closed container. The stimulant was given by using the grove application method. Stimulant application was carried out two days before tapping with an interval of 2 weeks. Observations of the variable length of latex flow, latex volume, and lump weight were carried out after tapping. Observation of latex dry weight variable and dry rubber content was carried out every application, namely once every 2 weeks. The dry observation of the tapping groove was carried out at the end of the study, namely the fifth application. The experimental results showed that there was an effect of several concentrations of Ambon banana peel stimulants on rubber plant clones of PB 260 on the variables of latex flow time and latex dry weight. This is proven at a concentration of 300g/L can increase the length of latex flow and dry weight latex has the same effect as chemical stimulants with a concentration of 4%. On the contrary, it was found that there was no significant effect on the variables of latex volume, lump weight, dry rubber content and dry tapping groove.
