Abstract

Objective Number of accident in PT. Lembah Karet is still relatively high. Survey showed that 53% workers experience occupational accidents. This study aimed to determine factors that associated with work accidents on production workers at PT Lembah Karet in 2014 Methods Quantitative research design with cross sectional approach. This research was conducted in PT. Lembah Karet from April until October 2014, with 63 sample workers. Its technique sampling was simple random sampling. The data were analyzed by using univariate and bivariate with CI 95% (α = 0.05). Result The results showed that 49.2% of workers injured at work, workers who do not implement the SOP 54%, workers who did not follow the Occupational and Safety Training 55.6%, higher educated workers 69.8%, workers using personal protective equipment 52.4%, and 66.7% is not good for controlling. Variables that had significant association was implementation of standard operating procedure, Occupational health and safety tr training, and using personal protective equipment. Conclusion There is a significant relationship between the implementation of SOP, Occupational health and safety training Training, and use of using personal protective equipment in the work accident. To minimize occupational accidents needed better controlling of the company so that workers can obey by the rules, implementing Standard Operating Procedure, discipline against for using personal protective equipment.
