Abstract

Agricultural development aims to increase agricultural production to meet domestic and industrial needs, increase exports, increase farmers' income, expand employment opportunities and encourage equal business opportunities. This study aims to describe the mechanism of implementing the rice seed subsidy program in Bonjol District, Pasaman Regency, and analyze the program's effect on rice production after receiving the program. The research method used in this study is a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The sampling technique used in this study is the Multistage Random Sampling Technique. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively for the first purpose and descriptive statistical analysis for the second purpose. The results showed that implementing the rice seed subsidy program in Bonjol District followed the government's recommended procedures. However, farmers complained about the delayed availability of subsidized seeds that were not by their planting schedule. Additionally, the research finds that rice production in the research area increased by 5.76% after receiving the seed subsidy, from 6,181.9 kg per ha to 6,538.1 kg per ha.
