Abstract
The quantity of secondary metabolite content is a concern in the group of biopharmaceutical plants. Efforts to manage factors need to be done to see the extent to which these activities can affect secondary plant metabolites. The provision and application of natural growth regulators (NGR) is a common practice in cultivation, but discussing the extent to which these two treatments affect secondary crop production has not been taken into account, especially in research in Indonesia. This study aims to obtain the intensity of shade and the best types of NGR that can affect the growth and apigenin content of celery plants. The study was conducted in a factorial manner with two factors, namely shade and types of natura; NGR in a completely randomized design (CRD). Shade consists of 4 levels of planting without shade, 65% shade, 75% shade, and 85% shade. While the NGR type consisted of 3 levels, namely planting without NGR, NGR from onion extract, and NGR from bean sprout extract. The results showed that the interaction between administration and application of NGR affected the value of leaf area index and apigenin content of celery plants. Giving effect on the variables of plant height, levels of chlorophyll a and total chlorophyll in celery plants. While the application of NGR only showed an effect on apigenin levels of celery plants.
