Abstract

Inventory is an idle resource that is provided for determining the number of product orders, order time and safety stock to meet customer demand. Hospital is a health-care facility that serves a community that has been impacted by advances in health science, technology, and social economic life in order to improve service quality and health status. Naili DBS Hospital is one of the hospitals in Padang experiencing problems related to medication supply, especially outpatient medication. Currently, Naili DBS Hospital has not implemented certain planning in inventory control. Medication procurement is carried out only based on medication stock in the storage so that there are inventory problems, namely excess and shortage of medication supplies. This research aims to determine plans towards control of medication inventory planning at Naili DBS Hospital so that it can overcome the problems that are being experienced by the pharmaceutical installation of Naili DBS Hospital. The research stage begins with testing the normal distribution, ABC-FSN classification, forecasting demand for 2022, calculating actual costs and proposals for 2021, and planning inventories for 2022 using the continuous review system method. The results obtained are the value of the optimal order quantity, reorder points and safety stock of medication. Based on the results, outpatient medications are classified into nine groups based on the ABC-FSN classification, with 10 medicines in AF class, 15 medicines in AS class, 9 medicines in AN class, 5 medicines in BF class, 11 medicines in BS class, 23 medicines in BN class, 2 medicines in CF class, 7 medicines in CS class, and 63 medicines in CN class. Calculation of total cost of proposed inventory using the continuous review system method can save Rp810,458,329 or 49% of the total actual inventory cost in 2021. According to the sensitivity analysis, the highest change in inventory planning cost is the change in the purchasing cost with an increase of Rp127,083,300 or 12.76% of normal cost and decreased of Rp127,083,300 or 17.13% of normal cost.
