Abstract
Vaccination is one of preventive measures to minimize the risk of transmission of COVID-19. Hesitancy towards COVID-19 vaccination and lack of knowledge of students in health science field can affect the achievement of herd immunity, therefore various efforts are needed to increase the knowledge and awareness towards the importance of COVID-19 vaccination. This study aimed to assess the COVID-19 vaccine related knowledge, attitudes and practice of medical students in Universitas Andalas, Padang, Indonesia. This was a descriptive study with cross-sectional design conducted by consecutive sampling with 350 respondents, from March to April 2022. The data were collected by online questionnaire (Google Form) and were analyzed by univariate analysis. The result showed that 58.6% of respondents had good knowledge about COVID-19 vaccine, 66.6% of respondents showed positive attitudes toward COVID-19 vaccine, 52.9% of respondents showed quite good in practice regarding COVID-19 vaccine. The conclusion of this study, most of respondents were good in knowledge, positive in attitude, and quite good in practice related COVID-19 vaccine. It is suggested to medical students to keep up the latest scientific developments and to raise their awareness regarding COVID-19 vaccine.
