Abstract
Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is an acute viral infection caused by the dengue virus that can attack all age groups, especially children, which is still a global health problem, especially in endemic areas. Blood tests such as hematocrit, platelets, and leukocytes are important to monitor the patient's condition in order to get the right therapy and prevent shock. Blood tests such as hematocrit, platelets, and leukocytes are important to monitor the patient's condition in order to get the right therapy and prevent shock. This study aims to determine the relationship between hematocrit, platelet, and leukocyte count with the clinical degree of DHF. This study is an analytic study with a cross-sectional design. The sample was obtained using a consecutive sampling technique in pediatric patients with a diagnosis of DHF at RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang period January 2019-December 2020. Data were obtained from the medical records of RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang from January 2022 to February 2022 with a total sample of 58 samples. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation test. Most of the sample was found in age group of 2-11 years old (53,4%), male (51,7%), and was diagnosed with grade III of DHF (55,2%). Most of the patients had hematocrit values in the range of normal for all age groups, platelet count <100,000/mm3 (100%), and leukocyte count <5,000/mm3 (48.27%). The results of the analysis get the relationship between the hematocrit value with the clinical degree of DHF with p=0.315 and r=0.134, for the relationship of platelet count with the clinical degree of DHF with a value of p=0.000 and r=-0.814, for the relationship of leukocyte count with the clinical degree of DHF with a value of p=0.019 and r=0.308. In this study, there was no relationship between the hematocrit value and the clinical degree of DHF, and there was a relationship between the number of platelets and the number of leukocytes with the clinical degree of DHF.
