Abstract
The writers’s reason for choosing the drama and A Midsummer Nights Dream play to be researching is because based on the resercher experience in directing this drama. The researcher was directed this play twice, in 2011 and 2013 on the class of drama in English Department Faculty of Humanities Andalas University. The writer found some actors have difficulties to understand the text completely. They have a difference opinion on the presence of the love and conflicts in this play. This resulted in difficult of them to get emotions when they practice or perform it. Based on this experience the researcher conduct the research on this drama by using the reader response citicism. Which the writer believe it will get the answer to that doubt. In the following discussion, the writer will discuss on the reader acceptance of missunderstanding to the presence of love and conflicts in this play which specialized to some members of the theater community in the Faculty of Humanities Andalas University and some of English Department student in Faculty of Humanities Andalas University who ever staged this drama.
