Abstract

Efforts that can be made to anticipate the health impacts of climate change are to increase the community's adaptive capacity. This study builds a model of the Public Health Mainstreaming Climate Field School as a solution to increase the adaptability of citizens. This study uses a research and development approach using the ADDIE model. This study begins with an analysis of regional health vulnerability in areas exposed to climate change in West Sumatra Province. Collecting qualitative data using community informants and health workers, and quantitative on a sample of 150 families. The data were processed by computer and analyzed by logistic regression. Preparation and development of curriculum and module designs, then implementation and evaluation of models in agricultural and coastal areas. This study uses a research and development approach using the ADDIE model. Collecting qualitative data using community informants and health workers, and quantitative on a sample of 150 families. The data were processed by computer and analyzed by logistic regression. Preparation and development of curriculum and module designs, then implementation and evaluation of models in agricultural and coastal areas. The results showed that Pasie Nan Tigo Village, Padang City (coastal area) and Parambahan Tanah Datar Village (agricultural area) had the vulnerability of the area categorized as very vulnerable. Husband's education level, self-efficacy, self-awareness, self-perception, life skills, and support from health workers have a joint effect on health adaptation behavior. The Public Health Mainstreaming Climate Field School Model has been implemented in two areas that are vulnerable to climate change. The evaluation of the model shows that there is an effect of the Community Health Mainstreaming Climate Field School on increasing knowledge, attitudes and health adaptation actions due to climate change. The Public Health Mainstreaming Climate Field School is an alternative to increasing the community's adaptive capacity, especially in areas exposed to climate change. Local governments set policy changes in anticipating the impacts of climate change. Keywords: Climate field school model, climate change, adaptation, public health
