Abstract

This research was aimed at analyzing the relation of BLM-PUAP fund to the input usage of rice field farming and analyzing the impact of BLM-PUAP over products and farmers’ income in Padang. The research was conducted by comparing the input usage, the products and the income of rice farmers group who received BLM-PUAP fund with rice farmers group who did not receive BLM PUAP fund in one growing season. Data analyses was conducted by using z test average difference. The result showed that there was no relationship between BLM-PUAP fund and the use of farm input, and furthermoore BLM-PUAP did not have any influence on the production and the income of farmers from rice farming in Padang. Therefore, the government should give information to the farmers about the use of the optimal input for rice farming like using the the right fertilizer with the right dose suggested. In addition, association of farmers groups need to increase the BLM-PUAP loan given to rice farming for purchasing of inputs. It had to be considered in order to increase the production and finally the farmer’s income. Key words: BLM-PUAP, farming and rice field
